New Faculty Programs

The Faculty Resource Center supports faculty in every stage of their career, but there are several programs designed especially for the newest Maverick faculty. This page offers more information about the various programs we offer to nurture new faculty along their journey. If there are any additional ways the FRC can support new faculty, please reach out at mc-frc@lonestar.edu.

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is designed to prepare new faculty for the first day and beyond, but also gives experienced faculty the opportunity to learn more about the various services and resources available to faculty and students available at LSC-Montgomery. Participation in NFO is required for all newly hired full-time faculty but is open to all adjunct faculty and dual credit instructors. Learn More

D2L Community Group

All new faculty are added to the New Faculty Orientation D2L Community Group. This self-paced resource provides an overview of the campus and resources available to faculty and their students. Access to this resource remains and faculty can reference it whenever needed. For questions about the D2L Community Group, contact MC-FRC@lonestar.edu.

Mentorship Program

All new faculty are connected with a mentor to provide guidance and support in the first year of service at LSC-Montgomery. Whenever possible, full-time faculty are connected with a colleague in the same discipline. The Department Chair serves as the mentor to all adjunct faculty in their respective department(s). The Faculty Resource Center supports the mentorship program by organizing events for mentors and mentees throughout the academic year.
