Writing Help for Students

The writing tutoring services are located in The Write Place (G103). The Write Place services include free consultations in writing, ESOL support, reading, and public speaking to improve students writing, communication, and reading comprehension skills across the academic curriculum. The Write Place works by appointments and walk-ins on a first-come-first-served basis. 

In-person Writing Tutoring Now Available!

The STAR Center is now offering in-person services by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. Students, faculty, and staff may reserve a time to access the STAR Center for specific services. Online Writing Tutoring with Brainfuse/TutorMatch

Our online writing tutors are available to help you with any project at any stage of the writing process with an emphasis on structure, word choice, content, and sentence fluency. We support writing across all disciplines and projects beyond the standard essay or research paper assignment.

Lone Star College System, in partnership with Brainfuse/TutorMatch, offers all enrolled students unlimited pre-scheduled tutoring services. Tutors are ready to help you make the transition to online classes.

Our tutors will...

• consult with you about structure and clarity in your writing, 
• provide you with tips and techniques for brainstorming, finding a thesis, organizing, adding support, citing correctly, and other writing-related issues,
• and ultimately helping you to become a better writer

Brainfuse/TutorMatch will allow you to...

• connect with a live tutor through an online video/chat session

• submit your writing assignment for review by a tutor via Writing Lab

• view sample Math and English lessons in Skill Surfer
