Virtual Research Appointments

Virtual Research Consultation Appointments Now Available

Can't make it to campus to get help in person? We've got you covered. Book a virtual research consultation appointment from wherever you are!

Librarians Can Help You:

  • Understand the resource requirements of your assignment.
  • Plan a research strategy. 
  • Locate resources that meet your assignment needs. 
  • Craft correct citations by helping you locate and apply citation style guidelines. 


Virtual Research Consultation appointments are being held via WebEx. Visit your confirmation email for the link! 

To set-up an in-person appointment with a librarian:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page
Click this link to open the STAR Center Appointment Page.

Step 2: Select a Service
Choose “Virtual Research Consultation”
Click on the drop down box to select the type of reference service you need: citation help, research help or research and citation help.

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your reference appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to a month in advance.

Step 4: Select Time
​Select from the available times during the librarian’s reference hours.

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, and student ID number.
What class is this for? (If not for a specific class, enter "None")
Briefly describe the assignment, topic, or research question you wish to discuss.
You also have the option to upload a file to send to the librarian. This could be your assignment description or your list of citations.

Step 8: Confirm Appointment
​If you are ready to make your appointment, click on the button “Confirm Appointment.”
You will receive an email confirming your appointment for your selected day and time.

IMPORTANT: Your confirmation email will include a webex link for the appointment.


Please make sure to bring your assignment description or list of citations to the appointment.
