Appointments and Reservations Now Available

The STAR Center is now offering in-person service appointments and reservations for study spaces and computers. Click the tabs below for more information about the services and spaces available, as well as information about how to make an appointment or reservation.

Study Space & Computer Reservations

The following STAR Center spaces are now available for student use by appointment:

  • Computers for Printing
    • Send your documents to the printer and visit the front desk for release. 
    • Printing is $0.10 per page for Black & White, and $0.50 per page for Color. Payment by card or cash. Coins not accepted.
    • 15 minute sessions
  • Computer Stations
    • Use a computer to complete class assignments. 
    • 1 hour min - 2 hour max
  • Computers with Special Programs
    • Use specific programs to complete class assignments. Click the "Info" button when selecting a computer station to learn more about the programs available at that station. 
    • 1 hour min - 2 hour max
  • Study Desks/Carrels
    • Individual study space to use your laptop or read. 
    • 1 hour min - 2 hour max
  • Study Rooms
    • Study rooms to use your laptop or read.
    • One person per room.
    • 1 hour min - 2 hour max

All study spaces and computer stations are located in the STAR Center (1st Floor, Bldg. F). For more information and step-by-step instructions for making a reservation, click on the links below.

All STAR Center visitors are required to wear a mask.  

Refusal to wear a mask will result in the immediate cancellation of your appointment. The mask may be removed temporarily to drink or to take an ID photo. Eating is not allowed during appointments. Visitors who are not able to comply with these guidelines are invited to use our robust selection of online services.

In-person Service Appointments

The STAR Center is now offering limited in-person services by appointment. Students, faculty, and staff may reserve a time to access the STAR Center for specific services, including:

All services, except A&P tutoring, are being provided in the STAR Center (1st Floor, Bldg. F). A&P tutoring appointments are being held in the Science Homework Lab (Building B, Room 113). For more information about each service and step-by-step instructions for making an appointment, click on the links below.

All STAR Center visitors are required to wear a mask.

Service Information

Academic coaching is a one-on-one session with an academic coach that provides support in improving academic skills and performance. Coaches can help mitigate and overcome perceived barriers, identify areas of strength and weakness, devise a personalized plan of action, and more!

To set-up an in-person appointment with an academic coach:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page

Step 2: Select a Service
Choose “Academic Coaching”

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to a month in advance.

Step 4: Select Time
​Select from the available appointment times.

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, and student ID number.
Briefly describe the topic or question you would like to discuss.

Step 8: Confirm Appointment
​If you are ready to make your appointment, click on the “Confirm Appointment” button
You will receive an email confirming your appointment for your selected day and time.

Bring all the material that you might need for the appointment (course syllabi, notes, notebook, laptop, homework, textbooks, etc.).
The LSC-Montgomery Reference Librarians can assist you with understanding the resource requirements of your assignment such as whether you need academic articles or primary resources, planning a research strategy for developing keywords and understanding what questions you will need to and, where to locate the library’s available resources that meet your assignment needs and match your chosen research strategy. Finally, the librarians can aid in crafting correct citations through locating creation guidelines and reviewing your bibliography once complete.

To set-up an in-person appointment with a librarian:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page
Click this link to open the STAR Center Appointment Page.

Step 2: Select a Service
Choose “In-Person Research Consultation”
Click on the drop down box to select the type of reference service you need: citation help or research help.

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your reference appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to a month in advance.

Step 4: Select Time
​Select from the available times during the librarian’s reference hours.

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, and student ID number.
What class is this for? (If not for a specific class, enter "None")
Briefly describe the assignment, topic, or research question you wish to discuss.
You also have the option to upload a file to send to the librarian. This could be your assignment description or your list of citations.

Step 8: Confirm Appointment
​If you are ready to make your appointment, click on the “Confirm Appointment” button.
You will receive an email confirming your appointment for your selected day and time.

Please make sure to bring your assignment description or list of citations to the appointment.
The STAR Center Service Desk provides general library services and information, including ID cards for students and employees, library resources checkout, course reserves, and printing services.

To set-up an in-person appointment to visit the Service Desk:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page
Click this link to open the STAR Center Appointment Page.

Step 2: Click Service Desk and select the appropriate appointment type.
Select the appropriate appointment type needed:
  • Student ID
    • Must have photo ID such as driver's license or passport, student ID number, and proof of registration (class schedule) can be shown on paper or via phone.
    • ​Your student ID card is also your library card.
  • Employee ID
    • Must have photo ID such as a driver's license or passport, employee ID number, Access Request form (from your department) and a One-card access card, if needed.
  • Course Reserves/ Calculators
    • If possible, include the title or type of calculator you are wanting to check out on the appointment form in the provided section. The library has both TI-83 Plus graphing calculators and TI-30 XIIS scientific calculators for check out. Checkout is available on a semester or daily basis.
  • Library Resource Checkout
    • If possible, include the title of the item you would like to checkout on the appointment form in the provided section.
    • Patrons must have a library card, student ID card, employee ID card, OR photo ID and student/employee ID number to pick up items.
  • Printing

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to two weeks in advance.

Step 4: Select Time
​Select from the available times.

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, phone number, and student ID number.
If you are picking up an item, include information about the item.

Step 8: Confirm Appointment
​If you are ready to make your appointment, click on the “Confirm Appointment” button.
You will receive an email confirming your appointment for your selected day and time.

• If you are requesting an ID card, please make sure to bring the required documentation to your appointment.
• If you are planning to pick up a print job, don't forget to submit upload and pay for your document printing via
Students needing a computer/printer, wifi access, or study space to complete assignments may reserve a space in the STAR Center.

To reserve a study space or computer station in the STAR Center:

Step 1: Go to the reservation page
Click this link to open the STAR Center Reservation Page.

Step 2: Click the "Reserve a Study Space/Computer" button and select the appropriate category from the drop-down list.
Select the reservation type needed:
  • Computers for Printing
    • Must have photo ID such as driver's license or passport, student ID number, and proof of registration (class schedule) can be shown on paper or via phone.
  • Computer Stations
    • Use a computer to complete class assignments.
  • Computers with Special Programs
    • Use specific programs to complete class assignments. Click the "Info" button when selecting a computer station to learn more about the programs available at that station.
  • Study Desks/Carrels
    • Individual study space to use your laptop or read.
  • Study Rooms
    • Study rooms to use your laptop or read one person per room.
Step 3: Select the Date
Select the "Go to Date" button or use the arrows to select the date your reservation.

Step 4: Select a Time
​Select from the available timeslots.
  • Computers for Printing sessions are 15 minutes.
  • All other sessions default to 1 hour and can be reserved for up to 2 hours a day.
Step 5: Continue
​Click on the "Submit Times" button.

Step 6: Check Information
Review the reservation information.

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your name, LSC email, student ID number, phone number, and reason for your visit.
If you are picking up an item, include information about the item.

Step 8: Confirm Appointment
​If you are ready to make your appointment, click on the “Submit My Booking” button.
You will receive an email confirming your reservation for your selected day and time.
In-person tutoring in A&P and Math (0310 - 2414) is available by appointment. Our tutors are dedicated professionals who create a supportive environment to assist you in mastering course content and achieve success in the classroom.

To set-up an in-person appointment with a tutor:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page

Step 2: Select a Service
Choose the appropriate tutoring option.

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to a month in advance.

Step 4: Select Time

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, and student ID number.

Bring all the material that you might need for the appointment (course syllabi, notes, notebook, laptop, homework, textbooks, etc.).
The Write Place provides in-person tutoring in writing, reading, public speaking, and English as a Second Language to help improve students’ communication and reading comprehension skills across the curriculum. The writing tutors assist in any subject area, by appointment only, on a first-come, first-served basis.

To set-up an in-person writing consultation:

Step 1: Go to the appointment page
Click this link to open the STAR Center Appointment Page.

Step 2: Select a Service
Choose “Writing/English Consultation”

Step 3: Select the Date
Select from the available dates for your appointment. Appointments must be made at least 1 hour in advance, and you can schedule up to a month in advance.

Step 4: Select Time
​Select from the available times during the librarian’s reference hours.

Step 5: Continue
​Click on the continue button.

Step 6: Check Information
​Make sure the information in the Appointment Details box is correct. If you need to make changes, select “Change Appointment Details.”

Step 7: Enter Your Details
Enter your first name, last name, email, and student ID number.
What class is this for? (If not for a specific class, enter "None")

Visitors may not book more than two appointments back-to-back for a single service.

• A&P tutoring appointments will take place in Building B, room 113.
Appiontment/Reservation Arrival Procedures

  • Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Don't forget to account for the time needed to complete the campus check-in processes.
  • Visitors will wait in the hallway outside of the STAR Center, and a staff member will escort you in at your appointment time.
  • Be sure to have your student ID number, a photo ID, and any information you might need for a successful appointment/reservation.
  • All visitors must wear a mask. Refusal to wear a mask will result in the immediate cancellation of your appointment/reservation. Late Arrivals & Cancellations

  • If you arrive more than five minutes after your appointment/reservation time, call 936-273-7387 for assistance.
  • Visitors who are more than 10 minutes late for a Service Desk or Research Consultation appointment or more than 20 minutes late for a Tutoring, Writing Consultation, or Academic Coaching appointment will need to schedule a new appointment time. Reservations are held until 10 minutes before the end of the reservation time.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment/reservation, click the "To cancel this appointment/booking visit" link located at the bottom of your confirmation email.

Campus Parking Visitor Parking

• Visitors may park in the "Open Parking" areas highlighted in gray on the map.

• All visitors must check-in at Building B before proceeding to their destination on campus.

Campus Check-in Process

  • If you are a student and you have not done so already, you will need to complete the required Return to Building LSC Training.
  • Less than 24 hours before your visit, complete the required Student Health Disclosure Form each day you access campus.
    • The Health Disclosure Form may be completed online up to 24 hours prior to your arrival on campus. It will speed the check-in process if you complete the form prior to arriving on campus.
    • You will be denied access to campus if you must answer "Yes" to any of the questions on the form.
  • Arrive early – long lines are a possibility. Having your ID number ready will speed up the check-in process significantly.
