Course reserves are textbooks or other materials used for a class which are put on reserve in the library by a professor or department for a specified check out period. The purpose of course reserves is to allow students the opportunity to use textbooks and other materials, without having to purchase them.

Searching for Items
Many textbooks and materials are available in Course Reserves. When searching for course reserves, you can filter your results. Click on the “Filter” button located at the top of the Course Reserves box. Then, click on the drop down box next to the “Where” box, and choose a category to search by such as professor, class, or location. In the “Contains” box, type in the information you are looking for pertaining to the category. Filtering your results helps to make your search more manageable.
A professor or department may put an item on reserve by completing an online Reserve Request Form and bringing their items to the library’s front Service Desk. Alternatively, you may printout the pdf version of the form below or access a paper copy at the Service Desk.
The contact information on the form should reflect the person responsible for the item(s) in the event that they are withdrawn and returned. Depending on the time of year, it can take 2-5 business days to get an item processed and on the shelf for students to check out. Peak times for putting an item on reserve are at the beginning of each semester (fall, spring, and summer).
