Now What?

I've been told I have to move my course online, now what?

There are five key steps to successfully converting your face-to-face or hybrid course to an online course:

  1. Review the Course Conversion to Online Protocols
  2. Complete the Quick Onboarding portion (modules 1 - 4) of the Online Teaching Certification by March 25, 2020.
  3. Complete the steps included in the Move Your Face-to-face or Hybrid Course Online guide 
  4. Use intentional design principles and best practices to improve your online course delivery
  5. Integrate library and academic support services into your D2L course

If this all seems a little daunting, don't worry! We've got you covered with step-by-step guides and support resources. Experienced LSC-Montgomery online faculty are ready to roll up their sleeves and help you get this done! Just click on the tabs on the upper left-hand section of this guide to get started. About this Resource

This guide is designed to align with the Lone Star College (LSC) Course Conversion to Online Protocols developed by the college system to address the need to migrate face-to-face (f2f) courses to the Desire2Learn online learning management system in response to COVID-19 pandemic response.

The resources in this guide are intended to support LSC-Montgomery faculty who have no or limited experience teaching in the online environment, but will also assist experienced faculty in identifying best practices for online teaching and learning. These resources have been developed and/or recommended by LSC-Montgomery faculty and staff to address the specific needs of our campus community.

Faculty who use this resource will be able to:

  • Implement a D2L course shell,
  • Develop and add course content that aligns with best practices for online teaching and learning, and
  • Identify additional support resources to facilitate the migration of their f2f course to the online environment.
