Admission & Licensure Examinations

Required Exams 

To apply for admission to a nursing program, students must successfully complete an assessment examination.  The HESI-A2 exam is the most commonly required admission examination.  

  • HESI-A2 | Health Education Systems Incorporate - Admission Exam 

Upon graduation from a nursing program, students must successfully complete one of the following examinations to receive a license to practice in the state where he/she received their nursing education.  All exams are developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).  

  • NNAAP | National Nurse Aide Assessment Program 
  • MACE | Medication Aide Certification Examination
  • NCLEX-PN | National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses
  • NCLEX-RN | National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses

Library Resources | The library maintains a collection of nursing exam study guides, which include content review, tutorials, and exam-style questions.  These items can be checked out  with a current LSC ID.  Search the library catalog to learn about the availability of study guides covering your exam.
